These workshops are run in conjunction with our associates at Going Digital, to give you the opportunity to review and discuss your photographs on computer throughout the day.
The day begins with a classroom based session to introduce you to the features of your camera that you will be using to take sharp, well-exposed shots of the birds.
We are fortunate to be able to hold these workshops in the parkland of Burghley House, just off the A1 at Stamford in Lincolnshire (on the Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire borders).
By working in a controlled environment, you will learn to take sharp, well-composed and correctly exposed photos. On the day the owls and falcons will be positioned to suit our requirements and you will be able to get very close. We will make the most of some great settings to photograph the static birds, with woodland where we will do our best to hide the jesses, to give the appearance of a real “in the wild” photograph. There will also be two short slow-flying sessions to give you the best possible opportunity to get some shots.
This workshop is most suited to SLR cameras. If you have a large compact (bridge) camera, you will be able to get good shots of the birds at rest and you will probably capture some shots of an owl flying from tree to tree, but you will be unlikely to take good photos of the falcons in flight.

Anyone can take stunning photos of these birds at rest and most cameras can capture an owl flying from branch to branch.
A faster camera is needed for a falcon in flight.
