Here at Photographers on Safari we recognise that that the holidays we provide are very special holidays. For most people they are not just an "annual jolly". They are a holiday that may have taken a long time to save for. An unbelievable amount of time goes into researching and planning these holidays, in order to ensure that your "holiday of a lifetime" will be all you expect and more. A truly memorable experience.
We will not send you off as part of a package tour, and you will be accompanied throughout your holiday. We will also have the services of an English-speaking guide. Our tours have been designed by photographers, and designed to be action packed, and to give you maximum and varied photo opportunities.
There will rarely be formal tuition sessions on our overseas trips unless we have, for some unexpected reason, time on our hands. You will, however, continually be advised the best way to tackle different situations as they arise. We will continually urge safari drivers to get you into the best possible positions in order to best capture all that you see.
We fully realise that a photographer's spouse or partner is often much less keen, or even totally disinterested in photography. You will not be treated "like a leper" but made most welcome. It is just as much your holiday and you will be equally catered for. Typically one in three customers fall into this category.
Often our customers, who quickly turn into our friends, ask us to arrange extra time in their destination at the end of the holiday. We are most happy to perform this service for you, with or without being accompanied by ourselves.
Safety is always paramount to Photographers on Safari. We will, however, do our utmost to get you even closer to your subjects on all our overseas tours. Cuddle a panda in China, Stroke a whale in Mexico and smell the breath of a lion in Africa are all possible with Photographers on Safari. This is wildlife photography at its best.
We do not operate "ferrari safaris". We will not be making long unnecessary journeys that leave little time to observe wildlife. Once we have found an interesting subject we will stay with it for some time, often observing mannerisms rarely seen by tourists. Our wildlife holidays will give you a real intimate experience. They are not about species spotting and ticking boxes.
Most days, we will provide you with the opportunity to photograph at these special times. That fantastic golden light on your subject makes an incredible difference, and more than compensates for an early start. On our African Lion Safaris we typically take a packed lunch and view game all day, rather than sit by a pool for several hours. The choice is yours.
