Sadly, most of the original badgers that emerged in daylight have either died or escaped from this venue. We are not able to guarantee good quality sessions with the new replacement animals.
We are, however delighted to say that the badgers at our British Wildlife venue are performing excellently every evening, giving the opportunity of up to 90 minutes’ photography in daylight. This is part of our normal afternoon/evening workshop there.

Badgers on British Wildlife workshop
Badger Photography in Daylight
This photographic workshop is held at Wildwood Wildlife Park in Kent. If photographing animals is your hobby, then this venue is for you. Badgers here are fed daily at 3.30 pm, therefore guaranteeing photo opportunities. Slightly underexpose your shots and they will appear to have been shot at dusk. There is even a view of the inside of their sett. The photographs of the badgers are absolutely stunning. The optimum time for getting the best photographs is just before feeding time. this is when they are alert and looking up for the keepers to arrive.
Large natural Woodland Enclosures
The animals are housed in large natural enclosures that are tailor-made for taking some fantastic photos. Photographers On Safari have arranged for privileged access, allowing you to go inside enclosures not open to the general public. You will be able to take some outstanding pictures with no unsightly barriers or fences obscuring your view.
Learn Wildlife Photography Techniques
The day begins with a short tutorial giving an insight into the techniques used for wildlife photography. Feel free, however, to ask as many questions as you like, on a one to one basis, throughout the day regarding these techniques. General and/or individual advice will be given each time we choose a new subject. Group numbers will be strictly limited to six clients so that everybody gets a great position.
Wolves in a Unique Woodland Setting
Their large compound is built around a pond in mature natural woodland. There are purpose built slots in the fence allowing for great photos of these normally shy animals. 2009 saw the construction of a new hide designed specifically for photographic purposes. This vantage point has a commanding view over most of the enclosure.
Lynx Enclosure and Aviary
There are two lynx here in a sizeable enclosure with mature trees and undergrowth for those all important natural backgrounds. They are usually most responsive and will perform for us just a few feet away from our privileged vantage point. We will also be permitted to photograph Herons, Egrets and Spoonbills from a position not accessible to the general public.
Red Deer, Roe Deer, Wild Boar & more
Many other animals are resident here. Different species will present themselves regularly as we move between our chosen subjects, but we cannot guarantee you will be able to photograph each and every one of them. We will photograph what we can. The Red Deer and Wild Boars almost invariably provide some great photo opportunities. We will have special access to both these subjects.
Beavers
There is now a recently opened Beaver enclosure that we will visit after our time with the Badgers. 2010 has seen the addition of a baby Beaver and these make quite a spectacle if swimming in their larger pool.
